Materials Engineers

               Description:
               Materials Engineers evaluate technical requirements and material
               specifications to develop materials that can be used, for example
, to
               reduce the weight but not the strength of an object. They also te

               and evaluate materials and develop new materials, such as the
               composite materials now used in stealth aircraft.

               Education:
               You need a four-year college degree or the equivalent before you
               start this job.

               Subjects to take: chemistry, physics, biology, English, foreign
               language, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, social studies,
               computers, engineering, design

               Job outlook: Good

               Salary: You will probably be paid between $25,000 and $32,000 a
               year for a beginning level job. Experienced workers can earn from
               $55,000 to $75,000
