I am a previous student of Prof.Shen
As far as I know,Prof.Shen is one of the most kind profs in TshingHua.

Yes,he dosen't have much research funds now.But I am sure it is enough
for culturing several graduate students,you don't need to worry about
the money for experiment and your salary.
Some bosses are really "rich",but can students get a single peny from
them?

He dindn't permit his students to graduat earlier?Absolutely not.
In the past 3 years,all his master students graduated after 2 years of
study!I guess if you want to get your master degree in 1 year,you had
better go to hell to realise your dream!

He didn't permit his students to take Gre and Tofle?where did you heard
of that?!
In fact,most of his students are studying abroad now.
One is in canada,one is in Irasel,more than 6 are in USA now.
All his students thinks highly of Prof.Shen and keeps in touch with him.

So shut your mouth when you don't know the truth!

(Sorry for using some dirty words,'cause I am realy angry with this guy.)
