More details on the RA position at GWU

They have research fund to support a graduate student immediately, who has a

background in physics or material science and is interested in molecular
dynamics simulation, to work as a research fellow towards Doctor of Science
degree in the area of Material Science and Solid Mechanics in the department

of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of The George Washington University.

The research project is on "Multiscale Modeling of Multi-Physics Phenomena",

which involves continuum mechanics, material science and solid state physics.

It is a work from atoms to a continuum. The RA from physics is supposed to
perform Classical Mechanics based Molecular Dynamics simulation and Quantum
Mechanics based AB Initio calculations. Either of them will involve knowledges

of solid state physics, computational physics/material science and continuum

mechanics. More specifically, they are now working in ABO3 perovckite
ferroelectrics. Several other Ph.D level students will be working on this
project.

The deadline for Spring 2004 is October 1. For the time being, only applicants

who have a master degree by or before January 2004  and may come here for the
