"Shaking bees from thriving hives to weaker ones, Jim Robertson of Dos Palos,
California, needs a sturdy back as well as fluency in bee biology. Neither
trait protects against beestings—or human barbs. 'A guy came up to me once and
said, "I got a boy, he's not too bright, and he don't get along with people—
but you ought to hire him. He'd make a real good beekeeper,"' says Jim with a
laugh."
