怎样区分cease/stop/pause

cease 意思是停止，主要用于某种状态或情况，或用于生存或存在。
例如：
The war had ceased. 战争已经停止了。
The rain has ceased. 雨停了。
Cease fire! 停火（停止射击）！
The old German Empire ceased to exist in 1918. 旧德意志帝国于1918年灭亡了。
stop 意思是停止，阻止，主要用于某种运动，行动或进展。
例如：
My watch stopped. 我的表停了。
Nothing can stop my going (or stop me from going). 什么也不能阻止我去。
No one can stop our taking (or stop us from taking) the socialist road. 谁也
阻挡不了我们走社会主义道路。
pause 意思是停顿，即指暂时的停止。
例如：
I pause for a reply. 我停止讲话以待答复。
He paused to look round. 他停下来看看四周。
