The longest-serving goalkeeper of the Berlusconi era. Arrigo Sacchi had work
ed with him in the youth set-up at Cesena and brought him to Milan in 1990-9
1. Christened "Superseba" by the Milan faithful, he claimed his fifth Scudet
to in the last campaign after four wins under Capello. His contribution last
 season amounted to 13 appearances.
Now 35, he chose to stay on at Milan even as second-choice, ignoring the ins
istent approaches of Udinese who had wanted him at all costs. His career in
a Milan shirt has been punctuated with the breaking of various records: he w
ent 929 minutes unbeaten in goal and 58 games without defeat.
Aside from being a champion between the sticks, he is also a top deep-sea fi
sherman, an activity he pursues with friends on Italy's Adriatic coast, as a
nd when his football commitments allow. Like Albertini, he is a connoisseur
of fine wines.
